Teresa Excinia, EdD, CAE

Director of Learning and Development; Senior Account Executive

Teresa Excinia joined CAMS in 2015, bringing with her nearly two decades of business management experience. Since transitioning into the association management industry, Teresa has worked in many capacities and developed extensive experience in executive leadership, operations, strategic planning, and organizational management.

Today, Teresa serves as the Executive Director for the California Chapters of the American Board of Trial Advocates (CAL-ABOTA), the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC), the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada (ADCNC), and the California Mortgage Association (CMA). In these roles, Teresa oversees the successful leadership and management of the associations in accordance with the strategic direction set by their respective Boards of Directors. Her responsibilities include executive leadership, strategic planning, membership development, financial management, marketing, governance support, and conference and tradeshow management.

Teresa earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) in Leadership and Innovation from the University of the Pacific, where her research focused on Latina leaders, cultural expectations, and work–life balance in the post-pandemic era. She also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in project management. Teresa was inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in recognition of her academic achievements. Additionally, she is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the California Society of Association Executives, where she holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential.

In her free time, Teresa enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband, Chris. Their life’s greatest joy are their two dogs, Jubilee and Hank. Teresa also enjoys volunteering and is an active member of the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) in Sacramento and Fresno, where she is trained in disaster preparedness.
