William Hixson, CAE, joined CAMS as a Senior Account Executive in January 2026, bringing more than a dozen years of experience in association leadership and communications. Previously, Will served as Director of Communications and Marketing for the California Business Properties Association, where he led statewide communications strategy, branding, media relations, and digital engagement.
Prior to this role, he held executive leadership roles for local, regional, and statewide nonprofit organizations at an association management company. Will began his career after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in 2012, first working as a Media Relations Specialist for a small business trade association before relocating to Sacramento to join one of the Capital Region’s top-grossing public relations firms.
He holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and has served in several volunteer leadership roles with Associations West, including Communications Committee Chair and Capital Council Chair. In 2022, Hixson was selected as one of 23 ASAE NextGen Scholars, a national program recognizing emerging leaders in the association community.
Will has also served on the boards of the Sacramento Public Relations Association and Metro EDGE, a program of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Roseville, California, with his husband and their golden retriever.
